Helicopter Flights with Children – A Safe Family Experience
A helicopter flight over the Swiss Alps is a true adventure for many children. The feeling of gently hovering above the ground, combined with views of mountains, glaciers and lakes, creates memories that last a lifetime. At FunFlights Helicopter-Tours, we warmly welcome families on board and place the highest value on safety, trust and a positive experience for our youngest passengers.

Flying with children is generally straightforward, provided a few important guidelines are respected. Our experienced pilots and ground crew ensure that both parents and children feel well looked after at all times.

From What Age Can Children Fly?
As a general rule, FunFlights welcomes children from the age of 6 years on our helicopter scenic flights. At this age, most children are:
• tall enough to sit comfortably and securely fastened
• able to wear the headset properly
• mature enough to understand and follow instructions

Upon individual request, younger children may also be accepted on scenic flights. Each request is carefully reviewed to ensure the flight can be prepared in the best possible way.

Legal Requirements & Seating
Swiss aviation regulations clearly state that children from 24 months of age require their own seat. Infants under 24 months may fly on the lap of an adult companion and are secured with an additional restraint belt (Child Restraint Device, CRD).

Helicopters do not use conventional child seats like cars do. For this reason, it is essential that parents inform us in advance about the age and size of their children so that we can prepare appropriate safety measures.

Supervision on Board
Each child must be accompanied by a responsible adult seated directly next to them during the flight. This person should be part of the same family or travel group, ensuring the child feels comfortable and follows instructions if necessary.

Children may react emotionally to the sensation of hovering above the ground – this is completely normal. A familiar and trusted companion helps the child remain calm and relaxed throughout the flight.

Safety Briefing & Seat Selection
Before every flight, all passengers receive a clear and comprehensive safety briefing. The accompanying adult is responsible for ensuring that the child:
• understands the information on the safety briefing card
• follows the pilot’s instructions during the flight

Whenever possible, we recommend a window seat for children. This allows them to fully enjoy the views and provides easy access when boarding and disembarking.

Our Promise to Families
Our goal is for a helicopter flight in Switzerland to be not only safe for children, but also calm, positive and inspiring. We are happy to advise families personally and answer all questions in advance, so you can look forward to this special experience with peace of mind.
