The Itinerary
Your Matterhorn adventure begins at Bern-Belp Airport, where our FunFlights team welcomes you at the agreed meeting point. After a short safety briefing, you board the helicopter and prepare for the longest scenic flight in our programme.
The helicopter first heads south towards the Bernese Oberland. As you leave the Bern area behind, the landscape changes from rolling foothills to increasingly dramatic Alpine terrain.
The route takes you towards Adelboden and Gstaad, two well-known destinations surrounded by impressive mountain landscapes. Continuing towards the Valais, the panorama becomes increasingly high Alpine.
One of the first major mountain highlights is the imposing Dent Blanche, one of the most striking peaks in the Valais Alps. From here, anticipation builds as the helicopter continues towards the main highlight of the journey.
Then comes the moment every passenger is waiting for: the Matterhorn.
Rising dramatically above the surrounding landscape, the Matterhorn is instantly recognisable by its distinctive pyramid shape. Seeing this legendary mountain from a helicopter provides a perspective that is impossible to experience from the valley floor.
The flight continues over the Mattertal towards Zermatt, giving you an aerial view of one of Switzerland’s most famous mountain destinations and the spectacular peaks and glaciers surrounding it.
On the return journey, the helicopter heads towards Visp and the Petersgrat before following the impressive Blüemlisalp mountain range. The route then continues through the peaceful Kiental, eventually bringing the flight back towards Lake Thun and Bern-Belp Airport.
During the approximately 75-minute flight, your professional pilot can point out prominent mountain peaks, glaciers, valleys and landmarks along the route, helping you understand the extraordinary Alpine landscape surrounding you.
After the safe landing at Bern-Belp Airport, you receive a FunFlights souvenir and can download photographs of your helicopter experience free of charge.
Make the Matterhorn the highlight of your Swiss journey and experience one of the Alps’ most iconic landscapes from above.
